Well to the southeast, Asturia is somewhat disconnected from the rest of the world. Covered in forests inhabited by strange creatures and worse, it is organized on a more feudal system than, say, Shasta. Asturia is divided among many family houses, each usually scheming overtly or covertly against the others. It is not uncommon for two houses to be at war over some long-forgotten insult.
Asturia used to be a separate country, then in allied with Dalenden. (With unknown results.)
A wide social division between the noble class and their subjects creates two very different societies within Asturia. Compared to the lower classes (and, indeed most of the world), the nobility is traditional and prude concerning matters of courtship, sex and love. An unwed man and woman in the same room together must be watched by a third party to preserve propriety.
