Dedyn is a 110 year-old dragon blooded who acts as liaison between Mnemon and the Imperial Palace. She is well liked in court, known as an able and fair negotiator, stained only by the court's distrust of Mnemon herself. She has managed to simultaneously ingratiate herself to a fair percentage of her house, though some are jealous of her quick rise to her position and nearly all see her more as a tool for influence within the family and at court than a true friend.
The "jackal of Sussex" is a ruthless man. Vacher, a fellow Senator, is the first to have stood up to him in nearly two decades. But as twisted as he may be, he authored Dalenden's first ever treaty with Kralld, no easy task. Some say he intimidated them into it. He would rule with an iron gauntlet, creating orpanages and workhouses. He sees Nyissa as a source of resources that should be taken, for one does not bargain with a snake.

Dedyn possesses a keen eye for intrigue and an uncanny ability to ferret out secrets. This is largely because Dedyn was killed not long after leaving the academy by the lunar Sulvad Tiaosa, who consumed her heart and has taken her place ever since.
An old, bitter man, Steven is intimidating, temperamental and somewhat mad. Some rumors call him brutal rapist and murderer and some say he has participated in human sacrifice. He has managed to gather the lion's share of the trade rights in Bruckenbrod under his black and red banner, furthering the Dascentius family's aim to control all trade in the Gulf of Kralld.

An old, bitter man, Steven is intimidating, temperamental and somewhat mad. Some rumors call him brutal rapist and murderer and some say he has participated in human sacrifice.
