From the High Stance (one of the two stances most often associated with Leopard style), Essence guides the character's lead hand and foot, allowing her to strike when her enemy moves in to attack. The character may immediately make a counterattack with a pool equal to Martial Arts against anyone executing a hand-to-hand attack against her. In addition, the incoming attack has a number of successes equal to the exalt's Essence negated. The counterattack is made after the opponents roll to hit, but before damage is determined. Only one counterattack can be made against each incoming attack. This charm may not be used against another counterattack.

The counterattack is made after the opponent's roll to hit, but before damage is determined. Only one counterattack can be made against each incoming attack. This charm may not be used against another counterattack.

This charm may also be used to augment striking counterattacks gained through other means, such as those provided by Leopard Form. The bonus dice so provided are considered Martial Arts dice for the purpose of calculating pool limits.
