In this case, the charm represents an exalt’s last ditch defense to overcome catastrophic system shock and even cheat death. Learning this charm permanently bestows additional Incapacitated health level boxes. Should damage begin to claim these additional boxes, the character falls into a fugue-like state that may be easily mistaken for death. The sidereal version of this charm provides extra Incapacitated health levels equal to one half the exalt’s current Conviction (round up). In addition, when these extra health levels come into play, the Sidereal’s Arcane Fate may cause observers to completely forget the Sidreal has fallen, even while in plain sight. All present must make rolls (see Sidereals pg. 121) each turn to remember the character.

The abyssal version of this charm provides extra Incapacitated health levels equal to half of the exalt’s Essence (round up). In addition, deathnights may spend three motes to activate the fugue-like state even when unwounded. This state lasts for a time chosen by the Abyssal, but no more than an number of hours equal to their Endurance. While in this state, the character is completely unconcious and unaware of of what happens around him.
