Real World History
Ydemeshan was constructed as a concept character for use in a possible d20 campaign focussed around pirates, started in the summer of 2007 in Long Island. If this were a stereotypical pirate movie, Ydemeshan would be the native voodoo priestess or shaman that the pirates consult for all things mystical, who was either half insane or eerily wise, you could never tell which.
This character was never actually played, because the GM decided to use the Big Eyes, Small Mouth 3e rules for the game instead. With a much more free form system in place, Wordman elected to make a telepathic parrot instead.
