Danny Jack

The mortal known as Danny Jack was a complex master of a philosophy that featured hours of calm contemplation. As he aged, he grew tired of the world and retreated into the mountains. Living off of the land, and largely in solitude, he gradually began to loose hold of his sanity. But he was happy.

Then, Gutts came along intent on mystical training. Jack taught him to read, but said the wrong thing one day and Gutts freaked out and killed him in a murderous rage.
